Duty Allocations Afloat

Duties afloat are mainly associated with the sailing race programme for the Cruiser, Yawl and Dinghy Fleets. These include acting as Race Officers or Assistant Race Officers, either from a Start Boat or from the Club. Other important roles are providing Safety Boat Helms and Crew for dinghy or mixed fleet races.

Duty allocations afloat are organised by each Fleet Captain, and draw on suitably experienced and qualified members of each fleet - past and present. Members are 'tagged' within the duty system in relation to those duties afloat for which they are approved to do.

Members will be informed of any allocation through the Members' Portal. There will also normally be a summary of the season's allocations on the Clubhouse Notice Board.

Changes to duty allocations afloat may be made using the Members' Portal, but should be arranged in consultation with the relevant Fleet Captain. In the portal, go to 'My Duties' to swap allocations or to transfer a duty to another approved member. To swap or transfer, TSC allocation tags must match. Your Fleet Captain can adjust these if appropriate.
