Slipway and launching fees

The slipway is for launching and retrieval of members craft. It may be muddy and caution is required. Brushes and hoses are available for cleaning the surface. Trolleys and other gear should not be left to obstruct the slipway. There is a drum for fresh water running of outboard motors at the top of the slipway.

Boats on trailers may be launched by arrangement with the Yard Marshall.

Fees are payable as follows:

Vessels (yawls / RIBs / trailer sailers / motor boats / other craft at Yard Marshall's discretion) under 16 ft £20.00

Vessels (yawls / RIBs / trailer sailers / motor boats / other craft at Yard Marshall's discretion) over 16 ft and under 25 ft £40.00

Launching of trailer mounted boats is governed by the Club policy on Safe Systems of Work. Two persons are needed for the operation. One person must act as banksman and watch for obstructions not visible to the driver including overhead. Trailer and vehicle must be suitable for a gradient of 1:5.7 and for the size and weight of the vessel which must be properly secured. The trailer must be connected to the vehicle hitch at all times. If there is doubt about competency, please ask for assistance.

If a Winch Wire recovery is required discuss this with the Yard Marshall.

Yawls that have paid a slippage fee for the season may haul out for maintenance work in the yard for up to three days at no extra cost by arrangement with the Yard Marshall
