Estuary Pilotage
The River Exe has a shallow entrance and care must be taken to follow directions in a current Almanac or Pilot as the sands shift and the location of buoys varies. The channel generally curves round the outside of bends between buoys. Deep draft vessels will dry out at low tide above Turf.
