Jerry's Start Boat Sheet

Jerry Row produced this very useful Excel Start Boat tool at least a decade ago, and has been using it annually ever since. Please note that the Sailing Instructions, as posted on the 'Sailing' page of this website, remain definitive and should be checked.

So:

1. Open Excel sheet and update two yellow highlights (the TIME column will adjust automatically).
2. Having obtained up-to-date handicap start times for individual boats, as provided by the Cruiser Captain and/or posted on the notice board, enter them as illustrated in blue.
3. Allocate crew to the four main roles (horn, flags, paperwork, paddle boards) and enter them in red (hand a copy to each one).
4. Prepare for 'YAWL 5 min. WARNING ', then simply follow the TIME column and instructions given.
5. Note down yawl finish order only, and cruiser order with finish times on back of sheet.

Job done - it's got to be simple!

NB: If you have printed your Start Boat sheet and the start is delayed, adjust all times accordingly.
