The Battles of Coronel and the Falkland Islands 1914
These were the first serious sea battles of World War 1 and the Battle of Coronel was the first defeat for the Royal Navy in 100 years.
My talk at the Club covered both these Battles at the same time, but here, I'm splitting them into two separate "talks" to make them more managable. I hope those of you who read them enjoy them.
