Triumphant return of the Dinner Dance and Prizegiving January 25th

Thanks to the vision and hard work of Rosie Woodward and the help of her family and friends 80 club members enjoyed a wonderful evening of Moroccan themed food and fun in the Matthews Hall. Starting with a cocktail the smartly dressed guests were treated to smooth saxophone music before taking their seats for dinner. A platter of flatbreads dips and falafel preceded the main course of Chicken or vegetable tagine with couscous. The desert was a selection of mediterranean sweets, baklava, Turkish delight and orange polenta cake.
After the Commodore Ian Garcia and the Vice Commodore Mike McDonnell had awarded prizes for the 2024 sailing season to winners present the band warmed up and the dancing commenced. A lively evening was enjoyed, culminating in a splendid conga led by our resident Scotsman in his kilt.
Behind the scenes the wonderful team of helpers set tables, prepared and served food and cocktails, cleared tables and washed up. By the end of the evening all was tidy and clean thanks to the volunteers. The whole event was warm and friendly and a testimony to the good fellowship we enjoy at Topsham Sailing Club. Thank you Rosie and your team!
