Topsham sailing club is situated on the upper tidal reaches of the river Exe on the south coast of Devon. It occupies a favoured location very close to the heart of the thriving Topsham community, yet its peaceful and tranquil setting has glorious views over the estuary and surrounding countryside.

Topsham Sailing Club has active fleets of Cruisers, Dinghies and Yawls whose crews take part in a full programme of weekend and weekday evening racing and social events.

Cruiser racing

Topsham Sailing Club has a very active fleet of Cruisers whose crews take part in a full programme of weekend and weekday evening racing.

The evening series racing can involve 30+ cruisers which are operated on a pursuit handicap system.

The cruiser fleet also takes part in local regattas and coastal racing.

The Portsmouth yardstick handicapping system is used for weekend and offshore events.

Yawl racing

Topsham Sailing Club has an active fleet of Devon Yawls whose crews take part in a very competitive programme of weekend and weekday racing. The evening series racing can involve 10+ yawls.

The yawl fleet operate a strict one design standard. TSC’s yawl fleet is one of the largest concentration of the class, and the club regularly hosts and competes in national events with great success.

Dinghy racing

Once home to a large fleet of Hornets, TSC is now host to numerous classes from Mirrors to GP 14’s.

Dinghy racing takes place mostly at weekends.

TSC Clubhouse

The Club has a very comfortable Clubhouse with wonderful views up and down the Exe Estuary and out towards the Haldon Hills.

TSC Bar

Recently refurbished, the Bar offers a good selection of real ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks all at very reasonable prices. An ideal spot on a summer evening to have a relaxing drink with great views to boot.

Thanks to local breweries, the bar can now offer ‘real ales’ from bag in boxes. These include Yellowhammer from Hanlons at Half Moon and Avocet and Ferryman from the Exeter Brewery.
