Looking forward to Topsham sailing in 2022

This year looks like seeing a return to an almost normal sailing and social programme. The cruisers are launching a bit earlier than usual because of the tides, but that will allow us to get on with concreting the top of the slip way and re-roofing the clubhouse before the usual sailing season start date.
Sadly there will only be one main cruiser series this summer despite the early start, and the September series is kyboshed by the Exe regatta being delayed until September and the tides causing conflicts with the Exe Champagne challenge and a slightly early Final Filing.
We are planning a Queen's Platinum Jubilee race to coincide with the national and local celebrations on Thursday 2nd June. The format will be the normal Cruiser and Yawl evening series but with special trophies. We hope our dinghy sailors will join in with the racing and afterwards we hope to return to the moorings and a club BBQ, with our boats Dressed as we proceed upstream past the town celebrations on the Quay.
There are protocols for this https://www.reddragonflagmakers.co.uk/pages/dressing-ship, but for such a unique occasion we believe any safe demonstration of celebration would be appropriate (fairy lights?).
The club has started to plan our environmental policy and if any members would like to contribute to this project please contact Rosemarie Cronin, or the Rear Commodore, Neil Oxenbury.
The launch of our new website will have occurred if you are reading this message! Please feed back any comments or suggestions to Donald McLintock or Andrew Pollard.
