The Devon Yawl became popular at Topsham Sailing Club when some very talented Dinghy sailors decided that getting wet wasn't what they wanted to do.   The Devon Yawl is stable and takes a lot to capsize it (although some members seem to find it easier than others!).  The one design racing has proved popular with a wide cross section of members and has produced one or two World Champions.
