Topsham Sailing Club Home Page

Topsham sailing club is situated on the upper tidal reaches of the river Exe on the south coast of Devon.  It occupies a favoured location very close to the heart of the thriving Topsham community yet its peaceful and tranquil setting has glorious views over the estuary and surrounding countryside.

Topsham Sailing Club has a very active fleet of Cruisers, Dinghies and Yawls whose crews take part in a full programme of weekend and weekday evening racing and social events (see Programme).  The evening series racing can involve 30+ cruisers and 30+ yawls.  The yawl fleet operate a strict one design standard, while the cruiser races are operated on a pursuit handicap system for the evening series and portsmouth yardstick handicapping system for weekend and offshore events. The T.S.C Devon yawl fleet is the largest concentration of the class, and regularly host and compete in national events with great success. Equally successful are the cruiser fleet who take part in local regattas and coastal racing. More details of the dinghy section can be found here.

Club members also embark on cruises to destinations such as the Channel islands, France and beyond, as well as cruises in company to the many rivers and harbours nearby.

The social events throughout the year include themed dinners, barbecues, skittles matches, fund raisers for the RNLI, as well as the attractions of the well stocked bar and galley providing excellent fare after all evening racing.  The club newsletter Tops'l keeps members up to date with the latest events, news and gossip around the club.

You can read all about the club history here.
